Senior Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian (ECC) - Referral Hospital

We are looking to speak with experienced and ambitious Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) veterinarians who would like to contribute to the further development of referral-level emergency care within Evidensia Dierenziekenhuizen in the Netherlands.

Within our referral hospitals, ECC clinicians play a crucial role in managing complex emergency cases and hospitalised patients, working closely with multidisciplinary specialist teams to ensure the highest standard of veterinary care.

We actively welcome experienced ECC clinicians, certificate holders and board-certified specialists (ECVECC / ACVECC) who are motivated to contribute to the development of advanced emergency and critical care services within a growing referral network.

Depending on experience and qualifications, this role includes senior clinical responsibility within the emergency and hospitalisation teams, supporting colleagues and contributing to the clinical development of the ECC service.

About the role

Within our ECC services, we are looking for experienced veterinarians with strong expertise in emergency medicine and hospitalised patient care.

ECC clinicians within our hospitals are responsible for the assessment, stabilisation and management of complex emergency cases, as well as the ongoing treatment of critically ill patients admitted to the hospital.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing emergency and critical care cases at referral level

• Overseeing the treatment and monitoring of hospitalised patients

• Providing advanced clinical decision-making in acute situations

• Supporting and guiding veterinarians working within the emergency and inpatient teams

• Contributing to the development and clinical organisation of the ECC service

• Maintaining communication with referring veterinarians and pet owners

Depending on experience and qualifications, the role may include senior clinical leadership within the ECC team, helping to guide less experienced clinicians and supporting the continued development of emergency services within the hospital.

Your profile

We are interested in veterinarians who:

• Have extensive experience in emergency and hospitalised patient care

• Are experienced working in a referral hospital or emergency hospital environment

• Hold an ECC certificate, are board-certified ECC specialists (ECVECC / ACVECC), or have demonstrable advanced experience in Emergency & Critical Care

• Are confident in managing complex emergency cases and critically ill patients

• Enjoy working in a multidisciplinary referral team

• Are passionate about delivering high-quality veterinary medicine

• Are flexible and comfortable working within a 24/7 hospital environment

• Dutch language skills are advantageous but not mandatory for international candidates
